The Minister of Energy, Hon. January Makamba has continued his working visit abroad where on 28 October 2021 he met and held talks with the Minister of Energy and Minerals of Algeria, Hon. Mohamed Arkab. During the talks, Minister Makamba described the historic relations that exist between Tanzania and Algeria and expressed the intention of the Government of Tanzania to develop these relations in the economic sphere for the future of the two countries.
The Minister of Energy, Hon. January Makamba met and held talks with the Minister of Energy of Saudi Arabia, Hon. Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud on the second day of a working visit to the country. During the meeting, Minister Makamba discussed various issues related to energy with his fellow Minister and also presented a special message from the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Samia Suluhu Hassan to the Government of Saudi Arabia.
The Minister of Energy, Hon. January Makamba arrived in Saudi Arabia on a two-day visit to the country at the invitation of Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy, Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud. While in the country, Minister Makamba is expected to participate in the launch of the “Saudi Green Initiative” to be held in Riyadh on 23 October 2021 as well as holding meetings to announce investment opportunities in the energy sector in Tanzania.
Deputy Minister of Mines Professor Shukuru Manya presented an honorary award to the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC), organized by the Tanzania Geological Survey (TGS) as part of recognizing TPDC’s contribution to funding and sending representatives (many geologists) to meetings. of the year prepared and coordinated by the Community. Kapuulya Musomba clarified that the implementation of the project aims to increase the use of natural gas in the city of Dar es Salaam by connecting more customers for domestic and industrial use.
The Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) has continued to strengthen various social services for Villages and Locals affected by the natural gas pipeline infrastructure from Mtwara to Dar es Salaam. In pursuit of this goal, TPDC has handed over Camp No. 8 to Four Way Village in Kilwa District so that the Village can plan the proper use of the Camp.
