Our Operatios
TPDC is the National Oil Company of Tanzania through which the Ministry of Energy and Minerals implements its petroleum exploration and development policies.
Up Stream Operations
Petroleum Exploration in Tanzania begun in the 1950’s when BP and Shell were awarded concessions along the coast, including the islands of Mafia, Zanzibar and Pemba. Extensive geological work was conducted including the drilling of more than 100 stratigraphic shallow boreholes
Mid Stream Operations
The implementation of the Government Natural Gas Project is in progress under the close monitoring and supervision of TPDC. The project also includes the construction of natural gas transportation pipeline from Songo Songo and Mtwara via Somanga Fungu (Kilwa) to Dar es Salaam
Downstream Operations
Downstream Operations include the processing and purifying of raw natural gas, marketing and distribution of products derived from crude oil and natural gas. The Directorate is also responsible for undertaking infrastructure development and value addition activities
