The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Engineer Felchesmi Mramba, has urged the management of the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) and its subsidiaries to accelerate their efforts and commitment in executing their duties. He emphasized the need for effective and impactful leadership that leaves a lasting legacy for the nation. Speaking during a TPDC Management Meeting held in Arusha, aimed at reviewing the implementation of the 2024/2025 financial year plans and strategizing for 2025/2026, Eng. Mramba reminded leaders that their time in office is limited, thus it is crucial to utilize it efficiently and productively. "Leadership is not forever, everyone has their time. It is important to make the most of that time to bring about positive results that will leave a mark on the nation," Mramba emphasized. He further highlighted that TPDC holds a unique position in making history due to the scale and significance of the projects it oversees in the oil and gas sector. He cited the oil and gas exploration project in the Eyasi-Wembere Block as an example, urging for increased implementation speed to achieve historic milestones. "Accelerate the implementation of your projects, especially the Eyasi-Wembere oil and gas exploration. One day, if oil is discovered, you will have something to be proud of as leaders of this generation – that you laid the foundation during your time in leadership," said Mramba. During the meeting, participants reviewed achievements attained, challenges encountered, and devised concrete strategies to ensure the successful execution of plans in alignment with the pace of development in the country's oil and gas sector. The Permanent Secretary’s remarks have been received as a renewed motivation for TPDC management to continue performing their duties with professionalism, patriotism, and dedication, with the aim of ensuring that the oil and gas sector contributes significantly to national development.
